Cricket - 2nd XI

Twenty runs short

On the same Sunday afternoon in June 2009, a G.K.S.S. 2nd XI played a separate match against an emerging School 1st XI which comprised mainly Under 14 and Under 15 players.  In this game the school amassed 226 runs in thirty overs with an impressive half century by Ed Goolden.  G.K.S.S. put up a strong fight and batted very well indeed, but eventually were all out in the last over twenty runs short of the needed score.  Duncan Normington was the pick of the G.K.S.S. batsmen with 86 runs.

There is now a really good tradition of excellent cricket between the School and G.K.S.S. members.  Old Boys interested in playing in future games should contact Lee Robson or Tom House or join the Facebook group.
