LOWER SHELL
We are Year 5 and our Form Teachers are Mrs Johnson and Mr Cooper. This is a really important year in Junior School and the curriculum is full of exciting and interesting topics and trips in addition to the normal array of musical, sporting and dramatic opportunities that are abound at King’s.
We will visit amongst others, the Water Centre as part of Geography studies on water, @ Bristol where we will visit the Planetarium and a workshop on the earth, moon and sun. We will also be involved in home and away sports fixtures.
Life is never dull as we try to seek answers to the kind of questions that adults never seem to want to talk about! So, whilst we never neglect important subjects such as English and Maths, we also like to explore some of life’s meatier issues. By the end of the year, we expect to know the answers to a range of interesting questions. For example:
- How did the Saxon’s keep their teeth clean and cure headaches?
- What actually happens to the stuff that we flush down the toilet? and
- How much of a mess can we make using only baking soda, vinegar and food colouring?
If you want to know the answers to these (and many other) fascinating problems, come and join us! We’d love to have you along!
