Cheerleading Club

Cheerleading is one of the fastest growing sports here in the UK today.  Cheerleading is a high energy, fast paced and dynamic sport which involves performing cheers and/or chants, short dance sections, jumps, stunts, pyramids and tumbling skills.  Those skills are then normally put into a two and a half minute routine.  At King's we work on all of the above each week and put together shorter routines that can be performed at school events and assemblies.

Cheerleading within schools contributes to helping children lead healthy lives along with providing life skills such as team building, increased self esteem, pride for the school, social interaction, leadership and a personal sense of growth and achievement.

King's Junior School Cheerleading Club meet once a week as an after school activity and includes girls from years 2 to 6.  Children are given the opportunity to show their routines and demonstrations during assemblies throughout the year with enthusiastic support from an encouraging audience.
