Chess club meets weekly and at the end of the school day. With growing popularity children may join with limited ability whilst others compete at district level. King's pupils have achieved outstanding results at the UK Chess Challenge tournament and are well placed in the Gloucester Primary Schools Chess league. The chess club also runs its own King's Gloucester Chess Super league.
