Course structure
Unit One Portfolio Unit, 50% of AS mark and 25% of A2 Level
Pupils produce a collection of materials which exemplifies work carried out during the AS course.
Unit Two Externally Set Assignment, 50% of AS mark and 25% of A2 Level
Pupils are provided with an examination paper on 1st February or as soon as possible around that date. They sit a five hour exam under supervised exam conditions, seen as developmental work. Pupils continue with the unit, potentially leading to a final piece or pieces of work until the date of submission.
Unit Three Personal Investigation, 25% of A2 Level
A personal investigation supported by a written element of 1000-3000 words.
Unit Four Externally Set Assignment, 25% of A2 Level
Pupils are provided with an examination paper on 1st February or as soon as possible around that date. They sit a fifteen hour exam under supervised exam conditions as a conclusion to the unit.
