On Monday the 21st of September, members of the 4th Form and the Upper and Lower Sixth Form visited Kew Gardens in London. Kew Garden inhabits millions of different species of plants from all over the world which need specific conditions to live in. The trip enabled us to view these plants that we would not normally have the chance to do in our day to day lives. Throughout the day we had the opportunity to draw many different plants within the gardens and we also had the chance to view botanical paintings by various artists that inspired many of us to look in more detail at the environment around us. One of our favourite Glass Houses was the Waterlily House where impressive sized and vibrant coloured lily pads floated on in the water contrasting against the flowers surrounding them. Many of us agreed that we would enjoy returning to Kew Gardens to draw the plants again as we all felt we gained a great deal from the trip and it inspired us in our art projects.
