Art & DT Trip London 2010

On Sunday, 7th March 2010, Art and D&T took twenty four pupils and three Gap students to London to visit three exhibitions. As is often the case, we had a very early start which meant we had the time to see the sights at a leisurely pace.

Our first point of call was the Royal Academy to see the Van Gogh exhibition. This collection of work focused on Van Gogh’s life through the written correspondence he had throughout his life with his brother Theo. The quality of drawing and the vibrancy of colour were amazing.

Secondly we visited Tate Britain to see an exhibition of Henry Moore’s work, both drawings and sculpture in a variety of media.

Finally, after a lunch break to re-fuel our energy, we went to the Design Museum to see Ergonomics in Design. This was an exciting collection of design and allowed a real insight to the concepts behind the products we use in daily life.
