On 10th November four of our debaters participated in the 1st round of the highly prestigious Cambridge Union Competition at St Mary’s Worcester.
The debaters were: Emma Nelson, Ben Carlton, Harriet Mitchell and Izzy Jeakins
We were up against teams from Cheltenham Ladies College, Pates, St Edwards, Hereford Cathedral School, St Mary’s, Bromsgrove, Malvern College and Malvern St James – with only 5 of 20 teams qualifying.
Ben and Izzy just failed to qualify, being squeezed out by a very good team from Pates but Emma and Harriet did make one of the top 5 spots and now go through to the regional final in January.
