Pupils at the King’s School paid their respects to those who lost their lives in the First and Second World War in a special Remembrance Service in Gloucester Cathedral. Guest Speaker, Lieutenant Colonel B.J. Barton-Ancliffe gave a speech to the pupils about the time he served in Kosovo and Iraq. This was very poignant with young soliders dying every day and the fact that some of the pupils at King’s have family members currently serving in Afghanistan. Head Girl Izzy Seymour read out the names of the King’s School fallen who died in the first and second world war.
Headmaster, Alistair Macnaughton, said "With the terrible losses being endured in Afghanistan, our remembrance this year has been especially poignant. As never before, our pupils have come to an understanding of what soldiers fight for and what their sacrifice can and should mean."
