Ski Trip 2010

Sauze d’Oulx

Imagine sitting on a big metal sofa suspended high in the air, wind blowing against your face. You look down and you see glittering snow that looks like icing sugar, you look to either side and all you see is mountains with hats made of clouds and trees laden with snow. As you get off the metal sofa the snow crunches under your big, heavy boots and the next thing you know you have been pushed over and are now lying face down in the snow! This was a regular occurrence!

It is the second time I have been to Sauze d’Oulx in Italy on the school ski trip, it’s a great resort for skiers of all abilities. On our first day we were put into skiing groups, but these were soon changed around! I ended up with an instructor called Elsa, who started off being pretty strict, but soon mellowed and we had a good time and great laugh with her in the end! The skiing was great – we all learnt lots and became far more confident . The weeks skiing was finished off with a slalom race, which was pretty nerve wracking but a good challenge.

The evening activities were always funny and enjoyable, they consisted of a games night, Karaoke, disco, quiz, and shopping followed by pizza evening.

We all loved being with the people from Meoncross School that came with us – we made some great friends and have stayed in touch since we got back. It’s always an amazing trip and not one person comes away without fantastic memories that they’ll treasure forever. I’m sure everyone who went on the trip will agree.
