Admissions Process

We are delighted that you are considering The King’s School, Gloucester for your child. We seek to admit pupils who will be happy and will thrive within the King’s community.

If places are available, we accept pupils in all year groups in Little King’s and the Junior School. The main entry points in the Senior School are 11+ (Year 7) , 13+ (Year 9) and Sixth Form, on occasion pupils are admitted into Year 8 and Year 10. Many pupils from our Junior School make the transition into the Senior School, alongside the boys and girls joining us from other schools. All new pupils are welcomed and are quickly made to feel part of the King’s family.

Whilst our main entry point is in September we are able to consider entries into the School at other times during the year if places are available.

If you have any queries relating to admissions, whether for Little King’s, Junior School, Senior School or Sixth Form, please do contact us via email to [email protected]

Meet the Headmaster

Mr David Morton, Headmaster at King's, will tell you, in his own words, more about the unique education on offer at our School:

Learning Support

We provide Learning Support, from our dedicated Learning Support Department, to enable those pupils with specific learning difficulties to successfully access our academic curriculum. We welcome pupils with physical disabilities, provided that they are able to access all areas of the School site and our curriculum.

We advise parents of children with special educational needs/learning difficulties or physical disabilities to discuss their child’s requirements with the School before he or she sits our Entrance examination or Academic Scholarship examination so that we can make adequate provision for him/her. Parents should provide a copy of an Educational Psychologist’s report or a medical report to support their request, for example for extra time or other special arrangements.
