Classics Department

Course Information

All pupils will begin their Classical education at King’s in year 8. The top 2 languages sets take Latin and the 3rd languages set take Classical Civilisation.

In year 9 pupils may opt to continue with Latin or Classical Civilisation. Some pupils in year 9 also choose to begin Classical Greek as their lunchtime activity.

In year 10 pupils may opt to take one of the following GCSE options; Latin and Greek, Latin or Classical Civilisation. Please follow the links below to find out what these courses entail.

All 3 subjects are offered as separate AS and A2 levels in the 6th Form and the department has an excellent record of sending candidates to top universities to continue their study of Classics.

GCSE Classical Civilisation
