An understanding of Chemistry is essential to everyday life. Analytical chemists check the quality and safety of the things we use, eat and drink every day. Their equipment ranges from large expensive machines to simple test kits.

Certain molecules are fundamental to life. Haemoglobin transports life giving oxygen around our bodies and insulin controls our sugar levels. The internal arrangement of their atoms is the key to understanding living processes and opening new pathways for biomedical research.

At King's, the Chemistry Department aim to give students an insight into the Chemistry that will affect their lives and an interest and enthusiasm for what is undoubtedly the most explosive of the Sciences!
