Quantock Lodge, Over Stowey, Somerset.

There is something connected with an end of term feeling about the visit to Quantock Lodge. Exams are over, teachers are normal human beings and school uniforms are taboo.

As the intrepid party entered the gates a sense of adventure abounded.

What lay ahead was a programme of tasks some mental, some physical that would turn the twenty one individuals into a unit fit to undertake anything: Abseiling, Blind Trail, Survival Skills, Initiation tests - all were conquered.

Three and half hours later, suitcases heavier by several pounds containing wet mud ridden clothes, we returned tired and victorious over all the assignments that the instructors had given to us.
