HMS GloucesterAll about Commander MP Paterson the New Commander of HMS Gloucester To mark our affiliation with HMS Gloucester, Kingsley Bear will be travelling with the destroyer around the world in the next few month sending pictures home of the places he has seen. The 10th and present HMS Gloucester was built by Vosper Thornycroft (UK) Ltd at Woolston, Southampton, launched on 2nd November 1982 by Her Royal Highness the Duchess of Gloucester and commissioned on 11 September 1985. The 12th of 14 'Type 42 destroyer', she was extensively refitted in 2002 and remains one of the Fleet's most capable ships. Commander Tuppin welcomes Kingsley aboard HMS Gloucester
