JOB DESCRIPTION
ASSISTANT GROUNDSPERSON
An experienced grounds person to assist in the management of the School’s playing fields, pitches and grounds. Sports covered include Rugby, Cricket, Rounders, Athletics, Netball and Hockey.
Reporting to the Head Grounds Man and within the Estates Department, you will be based at our sports pavilion at Archdeacon Meadow, St Oswald’s Road and duties will include the following:
- To assist in the day to day care and running of the grounds, involving the use of various pieces and machinery and equipment.
- To carry out spraying of the grounds – competence certificate would be benefit, otherwise training will be provided
- To assist in the day to day maintenance of equipment
- To assist the PE and games Department to keep school sports kit clean and in good condition
- To mark out pitches/courts for rugby, hockey, cricket, rounders, netball and athletics
- Erect equipment for games lessons/fixtures
- Carry out other duties as directed by the Head Grounds Man
Hours of work will be 37.5 hours per week all year round
Holiday entitlement will be 25 days per year (5 reserved for Christmas
Closure period) plus public holidays
You will be entitled to join the School’s Retirement Benefit Scheme
Remuneration to be agreed depending on age and experience
