Directions to the School

The simplest way to find King's is to follow the brown 'Cathedral' signs, which will guide you inevitably to Gouda Way, our Visitors' Car Park, and the School itself, with its limited parking for Headmaster's visitors. Detailed directions from the outskirts of Gloucester are as follows.

Each of the three routes from London arrive in Gloucester on the A417, including traffic from the south west joining the M5 at Junction 11A. As a result the directions to the School are given from that point onwards. Routes from the north exit the M5 at Junction 11. As a result:

  • Go straight across the first roundabout in the direction of Gloucester.
  • At the second roundabout turn right, following signs for the M5 and A40 to Ross-on-Wye and Cheltenham.
  • At the third roundabout take the second exit; this is signposted for Ross, Gloucester and the A40.
  • At the fourth roundabout turn left, the first exit. This is signposted on a brown Tourist Board sign for the Cathedral, Historic Docks, and the A38.
  • Follow road to fifth roundabout, turning right into St Oswald's Road, towards the Cattle Market.
  • Stay on St Oswald's Road, past Tesco on the right. Go under the railway bridge and immediately left into Priory Road - Blades Garage is on the corner.
  • Priory Road becomes Gouda Way just after Blades Garage. Follow Gouda Way, passing pedestrian lights. The entrance to the King's School is about 100 metres along, on the right.
