We want more for our students than academic skills, important though these are. We want them to develop into strong, independent, confident and spirited characters with the potential for a full and fulfilling life. And they do.
Our aim at King's is to ensure that all students receive a well-balanced education which will enable them to be confident in whatever they do. Every pupil is treated, first and foremost, as an individual with special needs of his or her own.
This applies to gifted children just as much as to those who benefit from extra support in literacy or numeracy. If extra provision of any kind is required, King's will create an appropriate, personal programme of support.
However, don't just take our word for it. Come to an open morning and talk to the teaching staff, the pupils themselves and their parents. See for yourself what life at King's is really like.
Measures of success
We value our pupils from the moment they join us, but we are proud of our achievement in being probably the area's most successful school in terms of 'value added'. For us, this means more than just high academic standards and an excellent record of entry to university.
According to our parents, quite simply, they recognise that our stable, structured and secure community is the ideal environment in which to learn, play, achieve and, above all, to grow up.
As one of our parents puts it,
"the approach of the staff is always caring and fair, often with a dash of humour and wit, all of which ensures just the right degree of mutual respect"
