The senior years

Our innovative programme of enrichment activities is designed to capture the imagination of our most able pupils, and to provide them with the opportunities to extend work undertaken in the classroom.

On a purely academic level, the progression from Junior to Senior school marks the beginning of the five year preparation for GCSEs as set out in the National Curriculum. However, at King's, we provide much more.

Our pupils are offered a wide range of cross-curricular opportunities as well as 'extras' such as a second foreign language and both Latin and Greek. We believe that this broader experience, coupled with support from their teachers, helps our pupils to make informed decisions about their GCSE options.

"I like being at King's, they give you a sense of kindness. We have smaller classes and are treated as individuals. That gives me a really nice warm feeling inside. You will find the classes more challenging and exciting. Moving around the school is fun, trying to find your classroom and getting lost is nothing to worry about because there is always someone there to help you"

Bethany Hill, Year 7

"My first impression of King's is good. I really like the school, I like the teachers and all the lessons. The teachers are very helpful and fun. Latin is enjoyable. English is excellent, and all the other lessons are exciting.

Lessons are so jam packed, they feel shorter. There are loads of trips. In First Form we go to Weston-Super-Mare and Bristol Zoo. Lunches are excellent, there is a big variety. My favourite subjects are English, Science, Drama, Music and Latin. My form teacher is especially wonderful"

Sam Greening, Year 7
