Mongolia Trip![]() This is a picture of some of the people who took part in the World Challenge Expedition to Mongolia in 2004. The King's School ran a World Challenge Expedition to Mongolia during the summer of 2004. 12 pupils, all from the fifth form, took part in this expedition. Each one raised just over £3000 to be able to take part in this once in a lifetime experience. Some of this money was raised by team fundraising activities, including manning the King's School Paddock for car parking when there were Rugby Matches, a school disco and a Promises Auction. Whilst in Mongolia part of our remit was to assist in homeless children's hostels. We also traveled around Mongolia to some of the more remote parts. ![]() This map of Mongolia shows the main cities and the countries bordering Mongolia which are China and Russia. Mongolia is land locked and therefore is not very humid and has few rivers and lakes. The country is high above sea level and we can expect hot dry days, but very cold nights. The official language is Mongolian which is also spoken in parts of northern China. The language's standard form is called Khalkha. Mongolian is written in vertical columns, which are read from left to right. |
