Music has always been a major part of life at King's and, quite apart from the choral tradition associated with the Cathedral, the school offers a broad choice of musical activities for pupils at all levels.
Allied to the central core of musical excellence that the Cathedral Choristers provide on a daily basis, King's is able to offer every pupil ample opportunities to perform in prestigious venues, supported by a team of dedicated professional musicians. Each performance is marked by a quality that is rare at school level and the numerous choirs and instrumental ensembles are testament to the boundless enthusiasm that the pupils bring to their commitments. Many have taken their vocal or instrumental studies on to further education with the support and nurturing of the musical environment at King's.
Among the many choral groups at King's are the Chamber Choir, who have performed at many venues nationwide and provided the backing vocals to singer Rusell Watson when he performed in Cheltenham last year. Another choral group are The King's Harmonists who also perform across the country and have recorded their own CD of light jazz classics, titled 'Dream.'
