BARDONECCHIA, ITALY

During February half term 36 pupils from years 7 to 12 and 5 staff, travelled to Italy for the Biennial ski trip. It was the first year in quite some time that we haven't joined with another school, the largest number of students we have taken with the greatest age range! The skiing conditions were some of the best we've had, blue skies, low temperatures and brilliant instructors all contributed to an excellent week of skiing with massive amounts of progress made by all of our pupils. We had a full programme of evening entertainments – ice skating – where Harri Barnett spent most of the time on his bottom, a pizza evening with some impressive card tricks from Oscar Hughes, a quiz including the decorating of toothbrushes and a disco where our pupils strutted their stuff with a hundred or so other guests at the hotel!! As always our pupils were a delight to be with and it is always pleasing to have so many compliments from so many people. During the return coach journey we passed a comments book around, these are some quotes from the book:

'If only I could describe how amazing this trip has been' Marita Warner-King (L6th form)

'Although the coach journey made me slightly sick, it was made COMPLETELY worth it! The hotel was an amazing start as all the other schools were so friendly. Obviously the skiing was the best part. I loved the group I was in and our instructor, Frederico was awesome. I took lots of photos of the spine tingling views. I enjoyed the hot chocolate stops halfway up the mountain, I don't think I'll ever taste some better hot chocolate. Thank you so much for the experience'! Maggie Leighton (2nd form)

'The past week has been some of the best days I have ever spent abroad. This was the first time I had been skiing on snow ..... and it was amazing! Oscar Hughes (2nd form)
