The History and Politics Department occupies the first floor of Little Cloister House, a medieval architectural gem in the cathedral close. Built over a 13th Century monastic hall and overlooking the medieval herb garden and infirmary arches, with the Bishop's Palace building to one side and the Cathedral towering on the other, students studying History at The King's School are surrounded by echoes of the past. Even our classrooms offer historical treasures in the form of carved Tudor roses, fascinating fireplaces and one of the oldest classrooms in England.
We have 2 dedicated classrooms (Tudor and Churchill) each equipped with a networked computer, projector, and audio-visual equipment. In addition we have a Sixth form library, and the department houses the school museum.
