WELCOME TO KING'S

King's is one of the seven famous Cathedral Schools established by Henry VIII in 1541. Today we are a thriving, forward-thinking, independent day school with over 740 pupils. We welcome boys and girls, aged 3 to 18, offering academic excellence and a celebrated range of co-curricular activities, underpinned by outstanding pastoral care.

Discover the magic of learning at our 'Wands and Wizards' Open Morning - Saturday 8th June

Families are invited to come along and visit our inspirational school at our special 'Wands and Wizards' open morning on Saturday 8th June.

Accompanied by a current pupil, visitors will follow the Discovery Trail around the school and take part in interactive activities including mixing potions, taking part in spellbinding challenges and wizardry in the original Harry Potter film location. From touring the first-class facilities and chatting to teachers and current pupils, families will get a good feel for life in our award-winning school. At the end of your tour, the admissions team will be on hand to provide helpful information on scholarships, bursaries and the applications process.

So whether you are a seasoned wizard or curious 'Muggle' eager to explore, come along and experience the magic for yourself at the next King's Open Morning.

In 2020 and 2021 King's was voted Gloucestershire's best independent school in the SoGlos Lifestyle Awards. This accolade was further endorsed in the September 2022 ISI Inspection Report which recognised that the quality of King’s pupils’ academic achievements and personal development is excellent - the highest possible level to achieve.

With small class sizes and inspiring teachers, King's offers a vibrant culture of endeavour and scholarship in a stunning historic setting adjacent to Gloucester Cathedral. As a result, our school has a special sense of identity which encourages strong moral values and a powerful feeling of community.

King's aims to stimulate all pupils to the greatest possible academic, creative and co-curricular achievement by encouraging the exploration of a wide range of cultural, intellectual and sporting activities.

The unique features of King’s, which visitors identify time and again, are the inclusive community, the warmth of welcome and the level of individual care for our pupils.
