From the Headmaster's Desk:

Thank you for visiting our website, which contains a wide variety of useful information about the School and, perhaps most important of all, a sense of how our pupils enjoy the experience of being here.  I hope you will enjoy browsing through the site, but do also come and visit us for real. You can do this by ringing the School and making an appointment with the Registrar.

We very much look forward to seeing you!

Welcome to King's

The King's School, Gloucester is one of the seven famous Cathedral Schools established by Henry VIII in 1541. Whilst initially a Choir School, it has grown considerably over the years into the leading co-educational independent school in the area, with around five hundred pupils, aged three to eighteen.

The Cathedral choristers continue to form an important part of our school community. You still have to be a boy to be a chorister, but we have been welcoming girls into the school for almost 30 years.

Visitors to the school invariably remark on the happy and busy pupils and the sense in which King's is one big family. Even the Inspectors were captured by the atmosphere!

Our innovative programme of enrichment activities is designed to capture the imagination of our most able pupils, and to provide them with the opportunities to extend work undertaken in the classroom.
