Welcome

Welcome

King’s is one of the seven famous Cathedral Schools established by Henry VIII in 1541. Today we are a thriving, forward-thinking, independent day school with 740 pupils. We welcome boys and girls, aged 3 to 18, offering academic excellence and a celebrated range of co-curricular activities, underpinned by outstanding pastoral care.

Headmaster Mr David Morton

With small class sizes and inspiring teachers, King's offers a vibrant culture of energy and endeavour in a stunning historic setting adjacent to Gloucester Cathedral, which is where our daily school chapel is held. As a result, our school has a special sense of identity which encourages strong moral values and a powerful feeling of community.

King's aims to inspire all pupils to discover their own talents and reach their greatest possible achievement by participating in the wide range of cultural, intellectual, sporting, creative and performing arts activities available.

The unique features of King’s, which visitors identify time and again, are the inclusive community, the warmth of welcome and the level of individual care for our pupils.

Our Headmaster, Mr David Morton is Vice Chair of the Choir Schools Association. He is also a Governor of an HMC day/boarding school in the West Midlands and an Honorary Lay Canon at Gloucester Cathedral.

We hope our website gives you a feel for the very special education on offer at King's. We would be delighted to welcome you to our school for a visit. For more information please contact our Admissions Office on 01452 337337 or email [email protected].
