Bursary Endowment Fund

Widening Access to a Royal Education

Since Henry VIII, King’s has served as a place where talent and potential are nurtured, regardless of background.

Through the Bursary Endowment Fund, we aim to offer transformational opportunities to pupils who would thrive here but cannot afford the fees. These awards are more than financial aid — they are life-changing chances to belong, grow, and succeed.

A Bursary is a means-tested fee remission. Bursaries are not dependent on academic or co-curricular ability; they are based on a family’s financial need. However, we only award bursaries to pupils who are likely to give the most to, and to gain the most from, a King’s education.

We have created a Bursary Endowment Fund to create a substantial, enduring fund that will over time yield enough interest to award transformative bursaries (75% fee remission and above).

Our aim is to raise £1m in the Bursary Endowment Fund by 2028 and £5m by 2041. All donations will remain the Fund in perpetuity and cannot be used by the school for any other purpose.

By contributing to the Bursary Endowment Fund, you help ensure that this historic school remains open to all who can benefit from what we offer.

Attending King’s School has massively improved me as a person in so many ways – I would never have had so many incredible, life changing opportunities, it is wasn’t for the bursary that I received"
