Welcome Malvern St James Parents and Pupils

A warm welcome to parents and students from Malvern St James.  All at King’s are very sorry to learn that Malvern St James will close from the end of the academic year. The closure of any school, especially one with such a long rich history and community, is incredibly upsetting for all involved. Please be reassured that the King’s School community is here to support you wherever possible.

You will have a huge amount to process, and no doubt you will be considering many different educational options for your child. Choosing the right school for your child at this time of change is a challenging decision and is not one to be rushed. To help parents to navigate the admissions process, we would like to offer this simple statement:

King’s will seek to honour the agreed terms with Malvern St James so that pupils are offered a place at King’s on the same terms as they currently hold.

For families with pupils in current Years 10 and 12 we will work with you and school ensure a smooth transition between schools in terms of course work, syllabus and examination boards as well as core pastoral care.

For those pupils where King’s fees are higher than those at Malvern St James, we will match what parents would have paid next year.

In order to simplify the admissions process to King’s, we will not require pupils to come and take our entrance assessments. We will simply ask Malvern St James to provide a reference for each pupil, and we can proceed from there.
