Sixth Form Charity

On Friday 10th March, a group of students volunteered to take part in the annual Cloister Challenge to raise money for the Gloucester charity HaVinG which supports the homeless and vulnerable people in the city and its surroundings.

Students had to arrive at the Cathedral by 7 O’Clock and had to of raised a minimum donation of £25. There were many activities available to those who took part, including a tour of the Gallery and the Crypt, musical items in the Chapter House and a Compline before bed.

Everyone got into their sleeping bags at about 11 O'Clock and tried to sleep, however the noise (especially from certain members of our team!) and cold temperatures, made this a very difficult task for some. When 6am arrived, it was time to get up and the challenge was complete.

Despite this difficult challenge I, and many other students, enjoyed it and found it a very fulfilling and eye-opening experience to the difficulties faced by those who are homeless.
